Leonard Hatred in Bologna
|
Bloody hell. I'm sweating in here. Roasting. Boiling. Baking. Sweltering. It's like a sauna. Furnace. You can fry an egg on my stomach. Oh, who wouldn't lap this up? It's ridiculous. Tremendous. Fantastic. Fan-dabby-dozy-tastic.

You should have seen Hatred's post that got deleted for being far too racy & controversial. Well past the limits that was.
Only an alert few got to read it before a keen-eyed mod removed it.
And YOU missed it. Ha Ha Ha.

All the crumbling industry round here must have been up to full speed in 1963, ted. Imagine it was a DANTESQUE experience.

I remember pulling into Genoa station on the all nighter from Paris... on our way to Pisa with my family it was 1963 what an experience that was I was 13. My Dad worked on the Railway so we travelled pretty much for nothing.

The whole coast around Genoa is very densely populated and the city itself is in the middle of a mountain range. There are massive road and rail bridges and tunnels everywhere and the traffic can get totally mental. The sea offers fine swimming etc if you like an urban beach though get there early if you want a beach bed in one of those poncy closed areas. Cogoleto, which is Columbus’s birth place, is nice and the whole area features some interesting, run-down and derelict factories and industrial infrastructure.

I've driven through Genoa a few times but never stopped, fantastic road and bridge system (until one collapsed) like driving on a roller coaster.

I’ve never been mate. It’s the closest city to Cinque Terre so it’s more of a stopover destination.
And Christopher Columbus was born there.

I went to Bologna once on a Sunday morning when I lived in Florence and it was like the whole city had turned into a church. Some sort of religious festival. Was a bit weird and frankly dull, so we left and went back to watch Batigol and Rui Costa tear it up at the Artemio Franchi and read Dylan Dog comic books.
